For about the past month and half I have been working on two JM style sites - my first of this style.

For my largest site, I had a 1,000 word article written about my topic and submitted it to about 6 article submission sites.

With the Google PR update that just happened, this site now has a PR of 3 on the index pages and 2 on the product pages. This was the first PR update this site has been involved with.

None of the article submission sites are showing up as backlinks. So I went out and had a look at my article on those sites. On one of them the page that features my article has a PR of 7! Several sites had the page at a PR 4 and PR3. This is great, and the links are much simpler to get then begging for link exchanges.

The next PR update should be very interesting - but I guess we will all have to wait several months before that happens.

In the meantime, I will keep adding content and do a couple more PAD article submissions!

Hi Bsnrjones,

That's great news to hear. In fact, I was going to setup another site as a test of this very method. The idea was to build a 50 page site on a topic of moderate to low competition. The only promotion was to be in 2 steps. First, using news releases to first get spidered. Second, build a net of back links from article directories. The final phase would be to add more content. It will take some time to implement but I think the idea is sound.

Your post makes me even more confident this will work.

I had a question, would you be willing to post the 6 article submission sites that you used?

Thanks Bsnrjones.

Glen.

I just started working my way through the lists provided in this thread:
http://www.associateprograms.com/discus/ftopic9561.html

I still have a ton of sites to submit to, I need to get back to it!

Let me know how your test goes, it is much the same as the strategy I am currently using.

Do you have a list of News release sites that you can submit to? Have you found this a good way to get spidered quickly?

Hi Bsnrjones,

Regarding news releases, I have used prweb.com and prleap.com with somewhat effectiveness. Posting to PR Web is more strict. You may need to either 1) pay for a professionally written PR which costs around $100 or 2) pay PR Web a fee to get your press release more exposure or 3) write a very good release. PR Web is the major player in the news release arena so it pays to start with them.

Some additional sites include: prfree.com and 24-7pressrelease.com

Concerning spiders, since Googlebot, Slurp and msnbot all index these news release sites mutiple times a day, I have to conclude that links inside press releases get added to their index.

Maybe that will help.

Posting articles at the article libraries has helped me a great deal and got my articles and links reproduced on a lot of pages.

Has anyone had success missing out the article libraries and approached publishers directly?

If so, are there any techniques that worked especially well for you, or others that didn't work as well as you might have hoped?

I have contacted other sites directly. It works great if you really get them excited about getting a quality piece of content or two, and not about you getting some inbound links. It does take some effort to find various sites though. Make sure you stay on topic with your niche.

It's also easier to get links using anchor text of your choice in the article body this way, too.

Hi there,

Just wanna know, if I add the adsense code into every article page of mine, it will get spidered and indexed eventually without me having to submit the site to google correct?

I read from google's site stating that once the ads get more relevant, it means the site has been spidered. So I guess a fast way to get spidered is to have the adsense code in my websites. Pls correct me if I'm wrong.

Google uses a separate spider for Adsense than it uses for the search results. Getting spidered by the Adsense spider will NOT get you in the search results.
