I know that article submission opens new horizons for promoting the tool.

But why not article submission from another side?

I mean: there is a huge desire of the market to submit article on as many relevant sites as it is possible.

You create article directory that allows others submitting articles and see your directory growing with quality relevant articles, see these articles indexed by search engines, see real targeted traffic coming to your site.

I tested article directory on one of my sites:
traffic increased
subscription to mailing list increased
adsense clicks increased

In three weeks
MSN indexed 800+ article pages
Yahoo indexed 190+ article pages
Google indexed 70+ article pages

Article submission works another way. Use it too.

Great idea, but as long as one submits good quality articles regularly to a large number of directories one can attract traffic.
It is best to use a submission software to cut down on hassle and to increase directory numbers
I purchased a new submission software from [Affiliate link deleted. Admin.] to fulfill the the submission part.

Yes, putting an article directory on your site is a good way to increase traffic. Be warned though that running an article directory takes a lot of time. If you get 50 article submissions a day, and you spend 2-4 minutes scanning the article for approval, it will take 100 to 400 minutes to run your site. That's a pretty large time investment. Weigh the amount of increased revenue you get against the amount of extra work you do before jumping right in. If your site currently makes $100 a day, will a 20% revenue increase be worth the extra 2 hours you put into it?

As another option, putting articles on your site is a great way to increase traffic and revenue. I have one site that generates 75% of its adsense revenue from the article directory. Its a small site (my wife's DJ site), so we're not talking large sums of cash, but it's very nice to turn a business expense into a profit center.

As for how effective article submitters are, well...ALL of them are more effective than manually cutting and pasting your article. However, some are more effective than others. I can't speak for all the article submission programs especially since I've never used any but my own, but there are two types: auto submitters and semi-auto submitters.

Auto-submitters are the quickest, but they usually have a smaller distribution list or cost an arm and a leg. With an auto submitter, you enter your article details, press a button or two, and you're done. If you want to see where your article is, you must Google a unique phrase from your article. These usually do not select a category for your article.

My freeware article submitter, Article Distributor (not sure if I can place a link here so google it) is a semi-auto submitter. It will automatically fill out all the test boxes, log you in automatically, add a pen name automatically, and what not, but it stops at the category selection field and makes you select the category (I believe it is an authors responsibility to select a category, not the article directory's webmaster). Once you select the category and press submit, it automatically navigates to the next site on the submission list.
