Modestmouser,

The sandbox should be viewed more as a quality or trust filter than some kind of aging process. Essentially it comes down to an errosion of trust, with every action that you take that is not deemed trustworthy by Google, you lose trust points until it hits the point where your site experiences a sandbox effect.

With every new site I build now I get at least top 30 rankings within a very short period of time and(days or weeks) in some cases top 10 rankings. Not to mention the Google traffic on "odd-ball" search terms in as little as 24 hours!

Don't over-think things and just VEO the heck out of your site Wink

Ok, so what if you start building a site, filling it with high quality content, only using 'white hat' linking methods (never linking across your own sites, avoiding link farms, etc.), then you get onto Google for about a month, then totally drop off?

'Cause this has happened with about ten of my newer sites, and from browsing forums, it's happened to many others in the same way.

So how did we supposedly get 'bad points' from Google - just for using keyword based pages?? Doesn't that seem a bit absurd?

Ugh... you know what, maybe you're right... I've just got 15 Martell sites out there and I'm really hoping you're not Smile

I guess the question right now is, does anyone have a Martell-style site that is getting much Google traffic?

The VEO Report says that James Martells methods do not work. It's hard to keep up with all this. Maybe www.veo-doesnt-love-martell-methods-anymore.com is available? Shocked

I guess it's how you define "much." To be honest, MSN and Yahoo drive most of my traffic to those style of sites, but I've noticed something recently.

My older "Martell" sites are bouncing back into Google. I imagine the age of the site is a factor, along with me adding more links pointing to my sites over time. Also, I've been adding new content and updating my old content on a regular basis so that things are more "fresh" and not stale.

Also, my content isn't poor quality, it's good stuff that's not stuffed with keywords.

No offense to you Colin, but if anyone here had looked at Colin's older sites you could understand why they got the boot. Wink

That is refreshing - my oldest Martell site is just now (within the last week or so) starting to get a little Google traffic... so I'm hoping it is a time and building-up thing.

I'm just going to keep testing my non-JM sites and keep adding - like you said - quality content to the Martell ones.

Yep that one was hilarious.. if you listen to Brad he sounds as though hes about to fall asleep LOL.. i havent a clue how colin made it on to seo radio when really his sites are non seo

so it made the conversation sound like an interview with a

Porn site and a Anti Porn site

If you have a good ear for the way people feel and what they are really doing on a phone.. ( technique learned over time ) you can almost picture him putting his hand over the phone and shouting to his secretary..

" Hey wanda.. who the hell booked this guy, im gonna kick their ass " ahahahahha

Hey edhelp1,

I was just poking around to check out referring URL to The VEO Report and noticed some traffic coming from this thread.

Rolling the clock forward now

Brad and Andy have jumped all over what I was talking about on SEO Radio. Hmmm...Seems what I was talking about is the new age of SEO or should I say VEO

Take a look at the Stomper teaser video series and listen to them talk about optimization for visitors.

Just thought I'd point that out Smile
