Does anyone have a viable Adsense alternative? I love Adsense and I am totally impressed but I believe in putting your eggs in different baskets. (I just cashed my first check. $7900!)I registered for the beta Yahoo program but they sent me an email saying that it is not yet ready. Ideas?
I looked through the posts and did not see too many suggestions.

Thanks,

Matt

Matt,

Couple of options spring to mind... OF course the most viable option is affiliate programs. I think we are all to easy to jump on the adsense wagon and give away our visitors for a buck or two max and allow someone else to close the deal on a sale.

Secondly there are different searchfeed options such as
http://searchfeed.com/

The payouts are less but they do offer some payment of course... and generally a few more ads to choose from.

What about ClickBank ads? I've been toying with a new script myself to work with Clickbank and generate Google Like ads...(hope it'll be ready this month ... sorry had to throw my own plug in there), but there are options out there now like clicksensor, or you can develop your own.

If you have a quality site of content and it's informative to the visitors then it's important to do some testing to see what conversts best and what will be the best revenue model for your site!

Good luck,

ihenman

Now I have to give my 2 cents on this as it is INSANE Shocked .. and I quote...

"noone would pay you as high as adsense pays"

how long have you been promoting affiliate programs? OR should I ask have you promoted affiliate programs... IF your site does it's job and you have selected the right niche and you're doing a good job pre-selling then there is no way ADSENSE should be a 90% revenue stream..THATS insane...

You have all your eggs in one basket here... What happens is Adsense changes there terms of revenue sharing again like they did early last year and some people had a 50%-75% revenue loss.

If you're into Making QUICK sites with page generator programs then sure you're going to drive all your traffic to adsense... BUT consider this you sealed your own FATE with your the comment made..

Ta DA! That's exactly it how long do you think it will be before adwords publishers start to catch on that it's not always the best value to have their ads displayed straight across the network... I know I don't let my ads get shown in the adsense network...

How ever the SMART ones that do show their ads across the network...are loving the traffic you're sending them their on topic to the Keyword they're advertising for an then they're either selling them something and making much for then the $1 or $2 it cost to get that customer from you...OR even better creating a customer for life by building a list.

Adsense isn't going away anytime soon since it helps support googles only realy revnue model (PPC advertising) but don't just drive to adsense..

Here's a simple MODEL:

Site XYZ is a niche site about a type of Hand Cream for women it last 5 times as long lets say (just fictional).

This product has a free trial offer...That pays you $15 per free trial.

You do your keyword research and start writing content you get a 20 page site well SEO'd and start building links to it...You now take the top fold of the page and throw in a LARGE RECTANGLE Adsense blog with an image beside it to help coax visitors into clicking on an add..

By the way the AVG CPC for these terms in Adwords is $3.50.. (so you'll make a revenue share of any where from $1.75 too $0.25....

SO the correct thing IMHO to do with this niche is this...Dedicate the top fold to a TEXT link for the Free trial. Try some different wording or ads and rotate them so you can determine what gets the best CTR, then stick with what works.

Work in a banner of adsense inside the content, then pre-sell the product through the article to have another link at the end with a call to action.

Maybe place a banner or something on the lh or rh side out of the way as another chance to get them to click.

Next create a simple report or e-course about the problem (dry hands) and offer it to them for their name and email then create an auto reposnder series that again leads the visitor to signing up for the free trial...

Not only are you giving yourself 2, 3, 4, 5 chances for that visitor to get the free trial but now they're on your list!!! WOO HOO and you can create other on topic reports and offers for face cream, hair care, etc. etc. The ideas a limitless.

STOP thinking about everything so SHORT term dollar i.e. ADSENSE someone else is paying you that $1 for your adsense click then getting that customer to either BUY something that they earn 5, 10 20 times more on...OR even better creating a lifetime customer out of that visitor.

YOUR visitors are worth more then an ADSENSE click...

This is just my 1.5 cents on the matter...BUT I really think a lot of us have been brainwashed that the only alternative is Adsense agreed it's the easiest... BUT anything worth building/creating isn't always easy.

Sorry to hijack this post off topic from the adsense alternatives

Great points and I totally agree. Basically it is kind of what I do now. I put Adsense codes on all my sites which were already selling products and services and I have autoresponders series for each site. I make the most money with these targeted lists. I have over 200,000 in my combined autoresponder series. I make more money selling products and services than with Adsense but I love the Adsense model because it is so clean. No customer support. $15. per free trial payout? Sounds good. Food for thought. Idease where to find such juicy affiliate programs?

Depending on your area of focus there are programs out there to promote that pay money like that per lead or free trial...The thing is ...and I know this isn't the ideal anwser you want..BUT the best programs I've found aren't through places lik CJ or linkshare...

You need to decide on what your area of Focus is (i.e. health and beauty, financial services, TECH stuff etc.) and hold a simple mastery over everything.

I use Google News alerts to keep up on Press releases for my niches and have found several good new products for my niche that are newly released and have an aff. program.

JUST keep hunting.

I also agree that the Adsense model is brilliant...I use the concept with my own ads as well on my site..Google wasn't stupid when they chose those ad sizes they're like that for a reason so i piggy back on it.

If Adsense can add an additiona 100, 500, 1000 , 10000 what ever to your revenue that's fantastic..BUT I think to many people rely on it for revenue...and don't really get a biz going until they grasp the SELLING and CUSTOMER concept.

Chitika is losing its popularity. Some of them are complaining about payouts... THere is another alternative Peakclick but the users are not happy with this also - again problems with payouts and relevancy of ads display.

Currently, I have been using a Clickbank feeds generators - haven't made any money from CB feeds yet but i have been using this for only 2 weeks now.
