It's amazing to me the amount of people talking about SBI who have no idea what they are talking about.
SBI has never stated "put the blinders on" when discussing site build it tools. In fact, their resource page list about 100 outside sources for those who want to use other tools. (try finding that with the competition) "Putting the blinders on" refers to the content building process. In other words, don't listen to the GRQ gurus and keep building great content and great links.
Second, SBI is not a magical package. I'm starting my third site and it's hard work. SBI just provides the tools I need to make my site work. I don't like spending all my time designing forms, auto responders, ezines, or submitting to the search engines. I would rather spend my time building content and links and affiliate programs to generate income.
Please don't buy SBI for $299.
It's much smarter to pay $180 for Aweber, another $75 for hosting, another $160 for SEO software, $50 for a header, and on and on. It's also much smarter to spend all your time tweaking pages and submitting to the search engines and countless hours on requesting back links so you can maintain your PR.
Frankly I prefer you don't buy SBI because I'm tired of the competition so stick with the other programs out there. _________________ Paul

I'm sorry but that is untrue

I don't think that's necessarily the case. There are other keyword research tools that can do just as good a job as SBI. I prefer Keyword Elite personally. I find the SBI tools to be a little clunky - they work, yes, but I prefer the way Keyword Elite operates.
I just checked out keyword elite and it's quite expensive at almost $200!
I do agree with Paul though, I wouldn't try and convince someone to use SBI, that way there is more $$ for me. _________________ MJ

Greetings forum,
There is a ton of great info in here! I have had a website up for about 3 years. I have recently added some affiliate links to generate income. I painstakingly learned FrontPage and a little Dreamweaver to make the site and now I have a few more in the works.
What I would like to do is increase my profits on my original site (about 200 pages of content) and create some additional sites related to my first one.
Having learned what I have learned, my true weakness now is SEO/TRAFFIC, marketing tips, and affiliate sales the "right" way. (meaning both profitable, and acceptable practice in the community)
From what I understand about SBI!, I don't need the actual web design materials, but all the added extras that come with the program. Is there a program, site, ebook, or e-zine that I would benefit more from? I want to learn more about the CTPM concept and be able to apply it to other sites.
For those of you using SBI! exclusively, do you have multiple sites with them? If so, do you have to pay the $299 for each site?
Last, what is SBI!'s biggest weakness and are there successful workarounds? Sorry for the lengthy post, but I am on the fence about purchasing it. One side says I know what I need to know and I just need to "spend several hours tweaking it", the other side of me says, "buy it, utilize the tools, and learn the PROCESS - which can be applied to my own ventures later."
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

I have more than one SBI site. The annual subscription is $299 for each site, and jolly well worth it too.
CTPM is simple. It is Content that brings you Traffic that you Pre-sell to and lastly you Monitize.
SBI!'s biggest weakness? For some it may be that you have to work (it?s not GRQ). For others it may be that SBI takes away all the technical stuff and lets you get on with creating content. Some might see that as a weakness if they enjoy technical stuff.
For others it may be that there are some things that you can?t do with SBI, database stuff, things that I do not understand.
Thanks for the info, Larry!
I understand that SBI automates lots of different tasks - Does it build forms which allow a site visitor to "Subscribe to my newsletter"?
-Also, does it provide a template for newsletters, either text or HTML? And while i'm on the subject, what role does SBI take in the email process? What I mean is, if I have a page allowing folks to email me, do I have access to that email list? If I want to send out a newsletter, I want to be able to send out a mass email, and my current host does not allow that option.
I have heard that SBI can do a lot, hopefully, it can do this. Thanks again for the fast reply!

Hi Dan,
You can have virtually any kind of form with SBI, contact, survey, lead generation, link exchange, etc. Just point and build with text boxes, check boxes, radio buttons etc. And you can set a ?capture? challenge.
You can send your newsletter in both text and HTML, I believe the software detects how the recipient is set to receive it.
Here I must confess I still haven?t started a newsletter, I should do, but I don?t think that you have access to the list outside of the newsletter, but I could be wrong on that. You certainly have access to the email address of anyone that contacts you through forms.

Hi Dan, congrats on holding onto your site for so long! Three years is quite an accomplishment.
1. SBI is like a 'program, site, ebook, or ezine that you would benefit from'. It has all of this and more. They have free e-books to totally guide you in the right direction, weekly ezines to keep you updated with what's going on in marketing, seo, improvements to SBI, affiliate marketing advice etc.
2. Yes I have several SBI sites, but I don't see it as paying $300 for each site, as much as I see it paying $25/mo for each site. Gosh for everything it includes, $25/mo is almost ridiculous. But Ken Evoy keeps the price as low as possible so others can grab this deal.
3. SBI's biggest weakness? I'd say charging a paltry $25/mo for what could easily cost more than $300/mo with all the features provided. People may not take them seriously when they see the low price to get onboard.
But really, who's perfect? Currently, there's no other company even near second place to what SBI does and can do for SBIers.
Spending hours 'tweaking' is something you definitely
don't want to do. In those wasted hours, you could be creating new content, setting up monetization strategies, etc.
CTPM is definitely a model that can be applied to many of your sites, and to business in general. I'd definitely give it a go. And if you don't like what you see, simply get a refund.
