Hi everyone,
I`m still trying to get the jist of blogging. I`ve already set one up and have contributed several inputs. I am basically using it to post news about my site topic. My question is should we approach putting up "news articles" on our blog like we would approach regular articles-ie-relate it to an already built webpage and link to it(keywords, etc)?? Thanks.
My suggestion is to get yourself familiar with blogs within and outside your niche.
It depends on how you want to use your blog for. It is a great publishing tool. You can build a community if you do it right. You can use it to update your users about your site but one thing for sure is that for people to subscribe to it, you have to provide good content.
There is more than one way to do it. _________________ I help small business owners overcome technology challenges in building their business online.

You've got the gist of it, if your purpose is more traffic to your site, and getting new pages indexed.
Using the same keyword anchor text in your blog link as used on the web site page is important.
Pinging the blog is also important. Depending on your blogging platform, it may happen when you post.
Don't overlook submitting to blog and rss directories,
there's a bunch at this page
