Hi, after going for the big keywords (with some success) I'm looking at going for teh Long tail.

Using Wordtracker I've found sopme great keywords with high KEI but low daily search numbers.

So my question is what is the minimum number of daily searches you would base an article / webpage around?

Thanks in advance.

Two or 3. That is the benefit of long-tail searches. You are really zeroing in on prospects.

I've done well with 5 cent Overture clicks that had 100 to 300 per month using their KW search tool.

It really all depends on whether you want clicks or sales. Stay below 500 a month and you're drilling down to the real buyers.

Long tail phrases and undersearched keywword phrases are great becasue they are very specific in nature. When I started our article writer company I targeted the phrase article writer because is does not have very many searches per month, but they are very targeted.

A person searching for article writer is usually looking to hire an article writer. It may only be searched 96 times a month according to the Overture keyword search tool, but this could be several people wanting to hire us.

Another example would be the phrase home based business. This is pretty competitive phrase whereas home based business for women might be easier to get on page one of Google for and less competitiion. This is a long tail phrase that brings less searches, but are very specific in nature.
