I just installed wordpress from fantastico in my cpanel.I want to know why my blog url is hhtp://name.my domain.com.Why is not http://www.....
Another thing,how can I change my blog permalinks to custom?

Your permalinks can be changed under Options and then the subtab permalinks. Then under the Customize Permalink Structure section select the option you want.

You need to make sure your website host has modrewrite enabled for this to work since you permalinks are rewriting the urls to seo friendly urls.

As far as your url it appears you did the fantastico install on a subdomain. Make sure you select your www. url in the Install On Domain option of the fantastico and if you want it at the root directory leave the Install In Directory blank.
