All,

I recently became the proud new owner of the article submission site in my signature.

Can those of you experienced with multiple article submission sites answer the question "What makes a great Article Submission Site"?

I'm currenlty at a PR of 3 and want to move up the chain to a 4 then 5, etc.

The big thing is category choice. Having many highly specific niche categories and sub-categories will draw more authors and make your site easier for the search engines to index.

Secondly, I'd install a captcha on the submission form to prevent people from using automated submission programs. This is where a lot of the crappy, spun, and poorly formatted articles come from.

Keep the choices under control and keep the garbage out and you'll be on your way.

We have modified our directory a lot to include some keyword specific pages and author rss feeds.
