I just started building a website and chose a merchant from cj. Many good affiliates show for proof of their earnings snapshots from their cj account. Why do so many people in alexa give them so bad reviews? I would like your opinion.

I just took a look at the latest "reviews" at Alexa.com of CJ.com. Some of them are outrageously defamatory and obviously written by people with an axe to grind, such as people from countries CJ doesn't allow applications from (I believe those include India and China), or people who hate America or American corporations, or people who have no idea how to sell online. Multiple posts may have written by the same person -- such as the 5 written on August 18, 2003. There's also a complaint about CJ's new policy of charging non-performers $10 - but that's applied over a 6 month period, and only if you earn nothing at all. A few of the complaints lack any substance whatsoever, and just complain threats about allegedly taking legal action, allegedly hacking Alexa to find out the true identity of review posters, Pakistan being allegedly a terrorist state, and how CJ is supposedly a scam that pays people to write positive remarks about them.
Let me tell you the truth - CJ works very well if you write good ad copy, focus on selling individual products and services (rather than just offering generic banners or links to merchants' main pages), and have lots of focused traffic coming into your site. I have earned about $1100 from CJ merchants so far this year, with ZERO reversals, and the money always arrives on time, and there are some people who are earning 10 or 20 times what I earn there. There may be some minor problems with CJ, like how some users' HOSTS files contain lines blocking the qksrv server without their knowledge and how the internal CJ mailbox can't forward its contents to your email address (so some CJ publishers never check their mail cuz they don't realize anything's there, but then they might miss important announcements or merchant coupons), and some other things that publishers at ABestWeb.com complain about, but any issues won't be resolved by rants from losers and liars.

I think it's significant that most of the defamatory posts are anonymous. Don't take them too seriously.
You need to remember that CJ has hundreds of thousands of affiliates. Among them, there will inevitably be people with a hidden agenda or people who simply haven't learned how to be an affiliate and are looking for someone to blame except themselves.
CJ isn't perfect but it's a fairly good affiliate network. _________________ Allan Gardyne

Yup ... CJ is good. I've earned $1,052.65 this year with just 2 merchants. They do have some policies to protect themselves and their merchants like not delaying the delivery of your first few cheques. But after that, they are very much on time. I am from Malaysia, they post cheques on the 20th and I get them by the 27th. _________________ Iszuddin Ismail aka Kidino

CJ is amazing. They have been instrumental in changing the financial lives of my family.
I have received a check from them every month on time for over three years. A big thumbs up for CJ. _________________ Warmly,

I can honestly say that CJ has increased my sales. I have never had an issue with them, and if I had any questions or concerns, They were addresses quickly.
CJ is my agency of choice because of their combined check payment. If I earn fifty cents with one merchant, and $24.50 with another, I've met the $25 minimum payout for the month The checks are timely, questions answered quickly, and stats & reports are easy to get to, download and print.

Thanks for sticking up for us. There isn't much we can do about the poor Alexa reviews - they appear to be mostly people who were kicked out for fraud. We do have a very high Alexa ranking, which hopefully proves that a lot of people visit our site. It is the hard working affiliates that post here that make our ranking so high. We wouldn't get a ranking that high if we were causing people problems.
Thanks again everyone and hello Allan

Dont give much attention to those comments on Alexa. Anyone who has an email can add comments there, which means even CJ competitors can post comments there.
CJ has treated me nicely, with timely payments. I'm not too sure how their merger with Valueclick will affect their current service. Hopefully wont be any problems or major changes.
