If I write my articles and then link them back to a specific product page, how does the spider find the article to begin with? If th espider follows links, the articles have no inward bound links.
I know the answer is simple, I am just missing something.
Second, should I link article to 1 specific product page or just have a botton or sid navbar?

Martell or not, the best way to make your articles visible to SE spiders is by having a sitemap. AFAIK, James does it through his related article pages. _________________ Explore The Most Up to Date Site About How to Succeed with Adwords!

Related article only has <30 article not the 200-300 so what about them?
Yes, the site map will show the article that have inward links but not the ones with outward links (back to the product pages).
So I am still wondering,
Thanks

Site map info is on page 241 of James' book. Keep studying. |

The way I understand it
1. Your start a related articles page and link it only to your site-map.
2. Write about 15 articles than link each one to your first related articles page.
3. Than start another related article page and link that one to your site-map
4. Again write 15 more articles and link those to the second related article page.
5. If you do 20 related article pages on your site map you will have 20 x 15 = 300 articles.
Now the spider will go to the site-map and check every link on that page which I think will go to every article pages.
Check my site-map on my "free cell phones" site for an example.
Ok here I am the searcher and I am looking for a "how does a family plan cell phone work" and that is what I enter as the search term. If you have written an article with these words in it, that is how you get found by the search engines.
For your second question, you have a link back to your products pages on every article. I think is what you wanted to know.
Best of luck

| Just FYI your cell phone site took a long time to open, like my computer was fighting with a re-direct or something. Is that built with seo website builder? Looks like their template. Very nice site, not sure why my computer doesn't want to look at it. Noticed the same thing with a debt site also. Best wishes. |

Denise, its the searchking js in the <head>. Same problem with mine this morning. I am removing the code, among other things. James dropped that a while back, the updates site has the new code he recommends.

Ok, thanks.
The key was since you should only list 30 article what about the others. SO now I know you split them. He does say that in th ebook. I went back and checked.
And yes you put links page to the product pages, not just one.

Thanks Debs, I will make the changes soon.
Profezor, read page 241 and 242 carefully and than take a look at the schematic on page 243. Pay careful attention to the arrows from sitemap down to article list(max 30) than the line goes to the 50-300 article pages.
You simply just keep building more article pages with up to 30 article links on them.
Lets say you name your article pages: baby-gift-articles1.html and on that page you have written 15-30 articles. You only put the bayb-gift-articles1.html on your site map. Than you create baby-gift-articles2.html and on that page you again write another 15-30 articles and only put the baby-gift-articles2.html on your site map. By now you will have only 2 pages on your site map. And though you will have 60 articles which the spiders will visit because of the two links in the site-map page.
That was a little bit difficult to write. I think that is how it works.
Please correct me if I am wrong.

It was clear.
How long has your phone site been up?
And how is it doing? |

Profezor, thanks for asking.
My sister and I are doing this together.
We purchased James Martell's manual on June 16th 2004 and we printed it and put each page in a plastic protector and divided it in three binders. We read the manual at least twice and refer to it often as we go along.
We registered our cell phone site on July 19th 2004 and we completed the 6th product page on August 6th.
Our index page was indexed by Yahoo on Aug. 26th.
Right now we have 30 articles up and working on more.
Two days ago Sept. 5th our site was found thru a search on Yahoo we had our 1st sale.
So that is the history so far and I would say that it is working just as James says in the manual.
We are thinking of starting a second site now. It is very exciting.
Best of Luck

Congrat! That is super exciting and shows me that this can be done. You jsut need to do it. How did Yahoo pick it up?
Is it hard writing the articles?
Did you buy the templates?

Denise,
sligthly off topic, but ...
I would like to know the reason why you have chosen this kind of ligth blue for your site. I have the same color on one of my sites and I like it and think the color has something reasuring (is that a word?), but my better half says the color is too bad on the eyes.
Any experiences with different colors?
PS: congrats for the first sale. I know how long it can take ... _________________ Explore The Most Up to Date Site About How to Succeed with Adwords! |

Any psych. class will teach you that blue is a calming, relaxing color. That's why people recommend you go to job interviews in dark blue suits.
Why blue? well many people say that it triggers thoughts of water, which connects to peoples comforting time in the womb.
People just seem to like it, and that's good enough for me. _________________ Robert
