Many websites promote Amazon. I do it myself on several sites. My experience: people do click, but hardly buy. The problem is that Amazon does not work with return cookies. People may find an interesting book thanks to your site, but when they buy later after going straight to Amazon, you get nothing.
I have been looking for other bookshops that do work with return cookies and still give a decent commission, but haven't found one. They all seem to work with the Amazon model.
Does anyone of you know a good bookshop with an affiliate program that puts a return cookie on your visitor's computer?
Thanks! |

Amazon does have a cookie based system but it only lasts for 24 hours. Also I was surprised by your statement about hardly buying. My amazon conversion rate has averaged in the 7% range all year long, heck just yesterday I had a 20% conversion rate. This is by far one of the best converting sites I deal with. _________________ Chas

| Maybe it depends on the subject of the books you promote. I run several web sites on different subjects (dating, pets, music, traveling) and on every site Amazon is the least, or almost the least converting program I promote. |

I would agree that Overstock is good. eBay also has a good program managed through CJ. _________________ Webmaster Wear Amusing t-shirts for webmasters, online marketers, and internet junkies.

They don't list a lot of the stuff they have within CJ itself, which makes their program look worse than it is. If you check their site you'll find that they have pretty much the best affiliate tools around.
You can create links to any page on ebay, display live auctions on your site, use dynamic landing pages, display customizable product banners, or use normal banners. Some really great tools (though I'm not entirely sure what you're looking for, so here's the link to the eBay Affiliate Program Toolbox page so that you can take a look). _________________ Webmaster Wear Amusing t-shirts for webmasters, online marketers, and internet junkies.

Why are doing links with Barnes and Noble a pain. Problem with code? etc. What is the length of the return cookie?
Thanks. _________________ http://www.classic-rock-legends-start-here.com |

Hi out:
The main problem is you have to do them all by hand. As far as I know they have no datafeed. And you have to do it by ISBN instead of by just title or interest _________________ Jack Mitchell
