When the hurricanes rolled through Florida and I was stuck indoors for days --- I did the Martell Buzz marathon... Listened to every single buzz and took notes.

Hi all,
James Martell here.
Thanks for all the buzz comments ...even the one where RonD says "he talks about his Cobra too much".
RonD, my apologies, but it's hard for me to believe that just a few years ago, seems like yesterday, that my only vehicle was a 1987 Sunbird ...that family really couldn't fit in to...
...now, I am a month away from having my dream car, the one we named our daughter "Shelby", after 14 years ago, delivered to my door.
Needless to say that I am stunned and amazed by how much the affiliate marketing business has changed my life financially.
All I can say is wow.

Let me first preface this by saying -- I haven't met anyone yet who listens to the Buzz as "passionately" as I do -- even your Robert!
Now on to the Cobra - I'll probably tick a few Buzz and not Buzz listeners off but - that's life.
Say what you want about the cobra but there is more that I think people miss. Many want to be spoon feed everything. They want James to "open up" and hand everything about the business for $10 per month.
Let me give you my take on the Cobra and turn it on around. Apply it to your web business or any business.
First --- The Cobra has been a passionate goal of James for years -- he even named his daughter Shelby. What is your passionate goal? Has it been burning inside you for years? If it IS a goal -- Do you talk about it?
Second -- James has not taken his eyes off the goal. How many quit after 3-6 months in this business? Develop your goals... don't let ups and downs side track you from your goals. What's at your core?
Third -- James spent time to visit the builder of the car, got invloved deeply, learned as much as he can about the components, quality and on and on. He focused on his goal and went to them. How much do you spend understanding the quality of your site and how it works... We can all improve.
Four -- He made it happen --- have you and do you?
I could go on but I'll stop. There is more that can apply to your business then James telling you to do this and that. Yes someone showed James the basics and he pushed it farther - He didn't wait around and say -- OK what's next. James is giving you the basics for your car -- it's up to you to learn HOW TO tune them.
The Buzz is broken down into 3 areas about 10 minutes each --- What's happening in his overall life and business, areas of focus in the business and finally motivation.
All I'll say is learn to listen.

It's an aquired trait I'm still working on improving.
I'll get there!

My first was to incorporate my business. The paperwork is going through as of Friday. The second is to accumulate a large down payment on a house for after college, 25-30K mark.

Pleased to meet you Gary! I'll give you a run for your money! That being said, I am certain you are well in the lead in terms of knowledge and experience in regards to the "Martell method." But I am working hard to catch up.
The rest of your post was spot on as far as I'm concerned (and very articulate as well). Thank you for posting that.
The Buzz has been a tremendous help to me and has helped to "flesh out" the information in the manual. It has kept me encouraged and given me something to look forward to twice a month. I understand the layout of the Buzz into the three areas of inspiration, information and motivation. It's a good mix, IMO.

I used to think a cobra was a snake.
I'll admit that owning a Cobra isn't my dream but I do have dreams and goals. I'm a middle aged woman who has been a self-employed artist for the last 20 years. I say artist but I've done a lot of other things as well from working construction to running my own art/gift shop and selling on eBay on the side. It's been a good life but the monetary compensation has often been, shall we say, inadequate.
I was looking for something with potential and started examining affiliate marketing from a number of different angles. James Martell was the one "guru" who didn't really seem to act like one. He impressed me as being very down-to-earth and honest in his presentation. His method was a good "fit" with my ability and personality. For instance, PPC would not be a good fit for me. On the other hand, James' method just resonated with me.
Something else that, to me, has served to prove to me that I made the right choice (beside the fact that my pages are starting to look very competitive) is the vast amounts of information that James gives to the handbook owners. The updates page, the Google Mastery report, the recent changes in keyword density...these are things that many would have sold to their "list". As a side note, I do understand that the Google Mastery report is going to be taken down so as to be offered in an incentive package, so be sure to give it a listen before the end of the month if you haven't already.

I've had enough of this audio trend, too. Hope it blows over soon!
Charlie, I'm not sure if I understood this right but if it means you don't care for the method of delivery of the Buzz, I must disagree. I think it's a great means of information distribution. It's personal and friendly and it gives me something to listen to when I'm away from the computer driving or doing other types of work where concentration on the job at hand isn't really necessary. For this reason I really appreciate that the Buzz is available to be downloaded so I can burn it on CD's.

Hi all, James Martell here.
Thanks for weighing in James! I'm really looking forward to the day I can add my story to your long list of testimonials. I've got two sites up and starting to rank and I'll soon be working on my third. I'll get there.
I too looked at alot of other options and methods, and found the Martell approach to be a better choice than most.
I'm just in the process of putting together my first site, it's been tough on a few of the bits, but it's only because it's a new skill that I'm learning.
I'm now up to my writing the content bit, and it's starting to get exciting now. I can't wait for it to go live, and see how I've done.
The important thing is to get the first one done, and then just multiple it and do another 10 or 20 more you never know I might even be able to earn a living from it.
How long did it take you to build your first site?

Hi James, Thanks for joining in.
Is there any chance that you'd be prepared to add transcripts of your audio newsletter to your site?
I learn best by reading, not by listening. It would be really useful if I could read ranscripts of Affiliate Buzz. You could put the transcripts in the Updates section for customers only. _________________ Allan Gardyne

Hi Allan!
I always enjoy dropping into your forum.
It's a very helpful and positive place.
As for doing up a transcript for each of the shows, -- Gary (speedguide) ran similar idea by me at CJU.
I'll put some further thought into the idea, I guess, one of the concerns I do have is that the spoken word doesn't offer translate into print.
Let me experiment with the idea.
And Gail, I am "really looking forward to the day I can add my story to your long list of testimonials". Congrats on your first two sites. _________________ Warmly,

Although I do have notes in going through each BUZZ I don't think they would be "transcript quality". I'll move that "project" up my list. James has been a big help and inspiration to me through this whole process.
I will say that I do enjoy the Buzz. However, those that are reading this and think they could skip the eBook and go just for the Buzz --- go for the combo. They really support each other. The eBook lays the foundation and the Buzz goes into greater detail. A wonderful COMBO.
Keep up the good work James. _________________ Gary
