Mediaone,
If you are "new at this", that's all the more reason to read the Message Board Use Instructions and follow those guidelines to get the best help.

This is NOT an introduction!

I'm re-locating this topic to a more suitable forum. Please come back here and introduce yourself by all means.

I'd suggest starting with a Site Review (post a request in the appropriate Site Review forum).

Then outline a bit of what you have done. Are you running a mini-site, content site, pure sales, blog, what?

And finally, don't be afraid to ask specific questions. If you don't know how to do something, just ask. Be you need to be specific. Asking how to get traffic is like asking how to get to Washington DC. It all depends on how fast you need to get there, and where you are starting from. Smile

Politer,
Generally, you are expected to outline a reply - and by all means recommend your URL in your signature file for extra information.

It is not appropriate to link out of the topic to your own site. I have deleted your URL accordingly as explained in the guidelines in the Message Board Use Instructions.

It's been my experience that buying traffic from folks selling "Get Targeted Visitors to Your Website" deals is a bad idea. It's usually bogus traffic.

When I first got started in the affiliate biz on the gambling end of things, I bought 3000 visitors to a page. Not a single conversion.

I normally see conversions of 1 in 200 or so. I was not pleased.

If you want to buy traffic, try PPC engines.

There are many methods for generating traffic to your Web site; some excellent and some a waste of time and money.

Effective methods include ensuring that your site is found and listed well in natural search results, using Keyword Advertising to generate targeted traffic, obtaining links from related sites or sites whose visitors would be interested in what you offer, putting your Web site address on all printed materials, business cards, and in your email signature, and advertising offline.

Don't bother spending cash one them so called "Get 10,000 Targeted Visitors for only $4.99" sites as they are just a load of rubbish and should be banned from the Web.

Build links. How? Find who link to your competitors. Then approach them for FREE Reciprocal links. This will help you with ranking and traffic if you are approaching the right people. Also, write informative articles that readers enjoy and submit it to websites who seek articles. Make sure they let you include a short bio and an active link. This is one of the effective methods to build one way links. This also helps you to establish yourself as an expert. In the long run you will reach where you want to.

A superb way to get visitors to your website is to build a genuinely interesting, useful website, the sort of site that people tell their friends about.

Same goes if you hope to get people to link to your site. If it's not an interesting, useful site, you'll have trouble attracting people who want to link to it.

When I launched AssociatePrograms.com back in early 1998 I participated in a lot of relevant email discussion lists. It's a very fast way to get your site known to a large number of people. The more useful your post, the more likely people are to click on the link in your signature and visit your site. Make sure you learn the email discussion list's rules before you make your first post or you risk doing more harm than good.

However, all the tips you've received will be useless if people don't buy anything when they visit your site. A quick way of testing and tweaking your conversion rate is to buy traffic on Google AdWords and/or on pay per click search engines.

I would also not bothing with bying traffic this way as it is more likely to be false traffic rather than a real person visiting your site. If it is a real person then it is very un-targeted traffic, which is also really not all that much good.

there are no shortcuts in life as well as in marketing. You need to do a lot of boring as well as intelligent works to get the type o traffic you need. Keep reading here for them

I would recommend

1. Article writing and posting
2. Discussion forum
3. SEO ( only after getting more than 1000 links )
