This is my first attempt at affiliate marketing. My site is about 75% done. I was wondering if anyone would look at it and tell me what I am doing wrong, right, stupid, whatever you might think.

I still need to do 2 pages and of course I have to keep updating after that. I just started the 18 part course for beginners. Anyway thanks.

Whew! You're ambitious! According to Google, the exact phrase "work from home", the phrase you're targeting on your home page, appears on 19.1 million websites.

When you choose such a fiercely competitive niche, it's extremely important that you ask yourself this question: "Why would people link to my site?"

If you persist with this niche, you'll need to be able to answer that question.

I didn't expect a reply from "the big man" himself. I'm flattered. I did the Google research as you suggested. It does seem I am in over my head. But I had to start somewhere. I also needed to learn how to use XSite Pro and still need to learn much more. Thank you for your help.
The Internet Based Business keyword looks to be affordable to advertise. Do you think I should advertise now or wait until I have been listed. I submitted to Google and Yahoo one day ago. Would it be wasting my money to start now, before their bots or spiders or whatever know who I am. Thanks again to everyone.

Yes, you had to start somewhere, but why start in a niche which is crowded with the smartest marketing minds on the planet?

If you advertise, I think all you'll do is prove that your pages don't have a high conversion rate. They don't presell strongly enough. You could end up spending a LOT of money in that fiercely competitive niche trying to create a positive return on investment.

I think your best option would be to put this site on hold for six months, find a much less competitive niche, make a success of it, and then return to this one. Here's an article which may help...

There are so many different things on that site that the visitor gets confused which one to go for. Not a good idea. You need to focus on one service that you are offering on the main page.

You can have other offers as well, but if you distract the visitor they will end up going elsewhere.

Also, you need more sub-heading and some bullets in there to break the pages up.

By the way, the domain name is confusing too - people might think its about transport distribution. I did.

Hope this helps.

John
