Hey everyone, I'm pleased to say that after some hard work encouraged by Allan a new version of Elite Wow Guides is up and running. Smile

I targeted the term 'Leveling guide' and 'WoW leveling guide' which is competetive and will take some time to reach the top 10 on google.
However, now I have seen a potentially more profitable term of which is basically the same yet with half the traffic and almost no competition.

How you you suggest implementing a page which offers the same info as a previous one, just with a different headline and some slight changes?
This new page is just for SEO purposes as I think I could rank very well with it. But I don't want my site to seem like spam, I want it to retain it's useful, proffesional image.
I was considering creating the page but not linking to it from anywhere within the site, would it still be spidered? and would google see it as spam?

Thank you

Be very careful when you do something purely for SEO purposes. Ideally, new pages that you introduce to the site or new features that you add to your pages should have some added value for the reader (on top of what already exists on the site) and contribute to SEO... but not just the latter.

Maybe you could take a point of view of one game character and approach topic from that angle. Let's say you want to introduce gaining experience as the search term.

Write a page how difficult it is to gain experience with this specific unit and therefore gaming experience is... eh, poor. You tell ins and outs, demonstrating that you understand different game situations and you have confronted them in a game.

Finally you introduce your desired action as the solution for the reader. This way you can make a page that delivers new relevant content with different search terms and because your topic is the same you can use rest of your site without any changes.

Linking within your domain with this kind of page is no problem, just try to get some links to it from outside, especially specific forums, which discuss game playing with this character.

thanks for the replies guys.
I take your point about not creating an SEO friendly site and the idea of doing it from one classes point of view is great also.
But, my real question is.. Will google still spider and rank a page with the same importance as one with lots of internal links even if it has none, or maybe one?

This new page wouldn't have any affiliate links on it, just link to another page on my site.

Internal links will help that page, especially so if the links have good anchor text and come from related pages . . . but don't obsess about it Wink

Search engine optimisation is like cooking.

You need to add a few condiments and then leave to simmer for a long time so that all the flavour comes out.

If you try to whack up the heat and just cook everything as quickly as possible you end up with something burnt, rubbery and tasteless.

Trust me, I'm better at SEO than I am at cooking Very Happy

Warburton2, I am doomed, I really love to wok and stir-fry. What's going to happen to me?
