|
My google is driving me nuts, about 75% of the searches go fine, yet some searches from google give the normal results but when clicked take me to an ask.com type page?
I ran adaware deleted all of what it found (fully updated too btw) and it "seemed" to fix it yet its hard to tell since it doesnt happen ALL the time, but today again I put a business name into google search to get their phone and address and a dumb ask.com page came up UGHH
Anyone heard of this happening and or why? _________________ *** Toys |

Google has a relationship with ASK.com, and ASK.com displays Google Search Results. It's a big money deal.
However what I suspect is going on with your problem is a little more sneaky.
Certain Internet Hosts actually have their own "Backend" Deals to reroute traffic to other places. And most bigger Internet Web Hosts also have these deals in place.
Search is a big money maker and corporations are doing all kinds of sneaky things behind the scenes. If Microsoft Could they would be routing everything to MSN live (Or whatever name they are calling it today).
Organic search is kind of a misnomer.
Clear your cache, and perhaps you may want to change the IP's that your Internet Service Provider is using (DNS) to something else.
Just unclick obtain automatically and select something else (Which means input your own address that you find to another DNS Server). You don't have to use your ISP's DNS servers. It may or may not effect other things like email. But usually it doesn't. And if you find the right combination you may actually notice faster service.
here is a link that gives you the basics

Wikipedia and other sites have a list of Free DNS servers. _________________ Earn $50 Per Sale - Every Online Business Needs This!

InternetMarketing_IQ - that's a very good explanation.
I first noticed it with PPC and if you track your clicks properly you can see that a lot of clicks are actually coming from Ask.com
I might be mistaken, but I think Google actually own Ask.com now?
Doesn't matter - this is good traffic. For PPC at least it's been converting quite well. _________________ PR3 in 7 Weeks - Get Front Page Google Rankings Fast
