I have checked that not all web hosting cpanel version are the same and only some good webhosting like prohostfirm.com has the latest and advanced pro cpanel version with fantastico and zip extract ability. Here is the list of fantastico I've got on my cpanel.

Great thing that fantastico and zip extract ability.
But could you develop a little bit on them...
What is a "zip extract ability" at your hosting?
Also how many utilities do you really use from those enumerated and how?
Isn't it that all of those scripts are actually open source(free) scripts which can be easily downloaded & installed even if the cpanel doesn't offer them?
zip extract ability means could extract zip file from file manager of cpanel. Some cpanel version really could not extract zip file, we have tested other webhosting with different cpanel version.
With fantastico it will be easier to install complicated php script. As you know it is quite headache to install php script like phpbb, invisionboard etc. Try it if you don't believe.
From the fantastico list you see many usefull php script for your website.

I have never yet had any troubles installing any PHP or Perl scripts on my host. Just extract the files, upload them, change a few permissions and VOILA! It works... _________________ Eric D. Burdo They Made $6,513 a day With Clickbank Doing This...

This is an easy to install click of the mouse install that comes on cpanel, only if you use the correct cpanel interface, the hosting company sets up what interface you have, if they set up the xpanel, bluelaggon,or default you will see fantastico, if they choose anyother interface you do not see it.
My hosting company http://www.anzafx.net
has this in the control panel and it is awesome. But they also have a bunch of easy to install cgi scripts, like chat, message board, mailing list, and guestbooks.

Sometimes when I see the volume of resources in Cpanel it reminds me of the bandwidth and disk space game. I don't have one client that exceeds disk space usage and only a couple who reach their bandwidth limit. It looks good to offer huge amounts of space and bandwidth but it seldom ever is used. Companies that offer unlimited space and bandwidth bank on that.
It's the same with Fantastico and the rest. Piles of scripts that make you feel you are getting your money's worth but hardly used. Plus it dumbs people down to some extent. It's not that difficult to load scripts and it helps you understand how they operate so you can fix things. A lot of those auto install scripts are not recent versions either.
Then if you do need to make an update what do you do? Most scripts are constantly being upgraded with security fixes and updates. It can be beneficial to learn how to install a script yourself.
Plus - you don't judge a hosting company by their Cpanel. Service, support and reliability are more important.
On the contrary, it is quite troublesome to upload and install some php script like php bb script. Fantastico make it easier to install without need to know php language too much. Cpanel also make it easier if you've got the most advanced version which have zip extract utility so you don't have to upload each file one by one and make directory one by one to your server which is very annoying. User friendly is the key in maintaining web hosting. Not all webmaster understand php and computer script language. I myself I thank god for getting the best cpanel version 9 at Prohostfirm.com with zip extract ability. I have encountered some hosting service for my other website which have cpanel but could not extract zip file so I have to upload each file one by one. I have asked the webmaster to update his cpanel but he seems not understand quite well or reluctant to do it. I really hate that kind of hosting.
