Greetings to all... I just proof read this and it's longer than I wanted! Forgive Me OK? Confused

I never refuse the invitation to introduce myself. It gives me a chance to hopefully start new relationships and open new doors. So here is my Intro... Drum Roll Please!

It's just me ... George aka Freedomwatchdog! Rolling Eyes

Actually, I'm glad I found you because someone had mentioned SiteSell and this Forum in the same sentence. I bought a SiteSell Package a few months ago but I have not built any site yet because I'm STILL reading the 650 page eBook! (which I don't understand... more on that later... probably another Post) However, I must add this: If anyone knows where the SiteSell Section or Posts are, please let me know because I need to hire someoe to do mine!

Anyway, back to my intro... I'm just a guy who is trying to change his career. I had three major spine surgeries and now I'm somewhat disabled. Crying or Very sad Therefore, I had to close my home-building busines of 25 years! In fact doctors told me to learn to stuff enveloped because any further physical work was out of the question! Imagine that? And I'm only a 54 year old kid!

My new problem is this: I never had a need for the internet, or HTML, or Java or Lava or Pearls (joke) Never having the need for online things means that I have ZERO, (zilch) experience on the internet. I've been on here for two years learning how to become an affiliate and even did a simple "Webspawner" website that really doesn't even look like a website!

I say a few interesting things and then pasted it with banners... WOW! That's it! I have however, bought two reseller sites and sell domain names and website templates... I don't think I can mention the URL's

But imagine this: I can't even create a website from my own templates! To me it's like algebra... until you "SEE" it, it looks foreign and like a bunch of scattered puzzle parts.

To get past this, I'm still trying to find a way to spend an hour on the phone with someone who is willing to just show me that basics on Front Page, or a template site, or even SiteSell and maybe I can start to see the puzzle more clearly!

I do have many years of business experience and I've even enjoyed tremendous success for most of my life. Sadly, it all collapsed three years ago. But I have faith! I also know that the Internet has more oportunity than the Gold Rush did during the 1800's You cannot fail if you just grab hold of a good idea, do your very best and bring it to fruition...

I hope that many of you here can be able to say one day soon: "I created the next eBay!"

In closing, I am here if anyone needs any help from me, in any way, or any advice in other areas, but don't ask me how to Nuke a PHP! OK?

Thanks and best of luck to all of you!

Hi George, Welcome!

I'm a year older than you. A few short years ago, I knew almost nothing about computers - I'd just used an old cheap one as a typewriter - and I certainly didn't know how to build a web page.

When I started fiddling around on the Internet I never dreamed that one day I'd not only be earning a nice living at this stuff, but I'd also have a bunch of employees.

Have faith. You can learn new things. Just take one small step at a time. Make sure you always do something every day to learn something new.

Your first step is to make the time to read that book.

Hi George,

Welcome! You have come to the right place because people here are more than willing to help you wherever they can.

Thats the good thing about affiliate / internet marketing. It does not matter if you are disabled, young, old or whatever as long as you learn the basics and apply what you have learnt you will succeed.

All the best,

Declan

I want to thank you for making me feel welcome. You are all extremely generous with your time and with you kind words.

I will continue to read the "book" but I am so eager (out of pure need) to get a website designed, published and up-and-running, so I can earn a few dollars that I can hardly stand it! I know that all of us feel that way in times of desperation, but I'm learning that this is a time to grow and mature even more... no matter how old we are.

My dad used to tell me when I was a teenager to never feel that I've reached "manhood" because the moment you do, someone will make you look and feel childish! My grandfather at 90 said he learned every day of his life and was still learning... I hope I have a good dose of those genes of wisdom.

Seriously, I really do feel at home, even with just two of you saying hello! You are both on my list of very special people.

I also appreciate the offer of help and I may actually take you up on it and call on one or both of you to help me to that next level... If I can't get a website soon, I'll go nuts Confused

I may already be there so that's not saying much Wink

I also want to reiterate that whatever I can do for you, I am here too!

Please write me anytime! My eMail is listed.

I'll end this for now and keep my eyes open, keep reading and start absorbing like a sponge!

God Bless you!

George - FreedomWatchdog
PS: Here is the re-seller site I mentioned, but so far, I'm my only customer! It's called Domain Watchdogs but it's not close to what I envision for my fuure with my new website or the affiliate program.

I guess that was OK to add... But if not, I'm sorry and just delete this part

Welcome, George,

I just wanted to add that having a sense of urgency as you do can really boost your level of succcess and how fast you achieve it! It's easy to procrastinate on building pages, doing research, etc. if you aren't desperate for your site/s to start earning. But if you need to succeed, your intense approach can definitely get you there faster.

Best of luck to you! Smile
