I have setup a site recently and it was listed in google, but the link and the web address in the google description are missing the www part. Any idea why this would happen. I know the site does exist when putting in the www. Any suggestion appreciated. The site is the charity shopping one in the sig.

Thanks

Thanks for the tip, I'll check some of my links. So google's descriptions could come from a link and not the site itself?

Google indexes sites by following links on the web. If other websites are linking to you using the format domain.com then Google will index you without the www At least I think thats right?

If you want the www part of the URL indexed then its a good idea to include this part of the URL in your internal linking structure.

I think I may have figured it out. My site is located in a sub-folder on a domain. When I goto 'www.nvmdjd.com/jfhf' the address bar removes the www, but if I end the address with '/' then everything looks good. Does not make any cents to me but I'll have to go check my links.
