I've been providing my affiliates with a landing site and hosting deal (I have a reseller account), at the moment - because I want to get enough people using it so they can sing it's praises to their own downline, I have been providing it for free.

however, now there is nearly 20 hosting deals and landing sites and I'm looking to the future when all 200+ affiliates have their own package too.

Obviously, things will get busy on the server with that many hosting accounts so I'll need to get either another reseller account or opt for my own server.

So how much would I charge for a hosting package that provides full php, cgi, stats,ftp,smtp/pop,blog,mysql x 3 and 5gb monthly transfer?

I'm not out to make a profit, I'd like to be able to cover the costs and plough any excess back into the team.

What do you think would be a fair price?

I have several vendors on one of my affiliate sites for similar hosting. Looks like the average is about $5 per month, assuming a yearly or better contract.

But, aren't you offering ANY value added services? I assume this is not a simple commodity offering. If you are providing some niche expertise I would think you could start charging whatever people will pay.

thanks for your reply Daniel, I was thinking it should be about that much.
The extras are having everything installed for them, the technical support and I am able to update everyone's webpages when they need it.

Seeing as I make money off their efforts anyway, I think I'll keep it at that fo r now. If I was providing the whole package to someone who was not in my downline then I suppose I could charge a fair bit for it but that's not gonna happen sometime soon!

thanks for your help

Depends on how many clients you feel comfortable having on one server. About 200 is a sensible max.

200 X $5 = $1000 minus server cost and support time

A better margin with added support would be around $8
