I want to submit a question to the AdSense staff to ask why I'm getting relevant ads on all pages of a site but only charity ads on the home page.
Is it best to submit this type of question through the "Contact Us" form or is there a better method? Anyone have experience?
Also, how long does it usually take to get a response?
Thanks,
Bobby |

I would use the contact form on your account and I've had responses within 24-48 hours.

Same here....they've been very good about answering my questions and it's always very specific to my question instead of some canned response. _________________ Dee

I sent a message to AdSense and got a response in just a few hours. I asked if they could take a look at a site and give me suggestions for getting relevant ads on the home page. All other pages are getting relevant ads but the home page is getting charity ads.
Either a number of people are experiencing the same problem or I got a canned response. Here is the response:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention.
We are currently working as quickly as we can to address this problem. As
soon as we have more information for you, we will email you again.
We appreciate your patience.
Sincerely,
The Google Team

Is anyone else having this "problem"?

Hello,
I thought I'd post again in this thread to see if I could catch someone new that might have information.
Is anyone experiencing the problem I described in the previous post?
Note that I am only experiencing it on one site only - not any others.
Thanks,
Bobby |

That is their standard response when they don't have an answer for you right away but they are looking into it. I had a similar response when communicating with them about mistargeted ads (not PSAs). The final response I got from them (after going back and forth 3 or 4 times) was:
| Quote: | Thank you for your patience while we continued investigating this matter.
Our technology uses a sophisticated algorithm to understand the content
and context of any web page to provide relevant and a way to better
monetize your site. We are constantly revising our content targeting
algorithms in order to deliver the most relevant ads to a web page. While
this system works very well, at times, there are a small number of pages
where poorly targeted may appear.
Regretfully, the page you sent us appears to fit into this group. We
apologize for the inconvenience this may cause you and thank you for
bringing this to our attention. Your feedback will help us improve our
content targeting servers to prevent this. |
While they refer to the "page" I sent them, I actually sent them the URLs to 11 different pages over the course of the full email exchange. And there are far more than 11 pages this was/is happening on. It continues and my CTR and EPC have suffered tremendously since mid-October.
My earnings are down 35% and my CTR is down almost 30%. |

After reading the previous post by Guest, I went back to review a couple of things.
The first check I received from AdSense had my personal name as the Payee instead of my company name. I logged in and changed the Payee name to my company name.
My company name is three words long.
When I click on the Contact form on AdSense now, the name field is automatically filled with my company name.
The email I received after contacting AdSense about the above problem was addressed to "Dear ***" where *** is just the first word of my company name. This is despite the fact I provided my personal name at the end of the message I sent to AdSense.
It seems obvious to me I received a canned response as opposed to a response from a human.

What's wrong with the response you received if it's truthful, regardless of whether it is standard language that is used in all similar cases? That doesn't mean it wasn't sent by a human. It's called consistency.
In my experience, Google investigates all issues that are brought to their attention, but it's unreasonable to expect them to drop everything and fully research your issue immediately. In the meantime, they are simply acknowledging your message. I'd much rather get a similar acknowledgment than to wait several days before hearing anything at all. |

Up to now, no one in this thread has stated an opinion that anything is "wrong" with the response from Google. Posters have provided information and asked questions.
Others who responded to my first question in this thread indicated that in their experience, AdSense provided a prompt & personal response that directly addressed the question being asked.
My experience seems to be different than that and I've pointed that out.
In the response to my question, AdSense stated, "We are currently working as quickly as we can to address this problem." That could be interpreted in different ways.
Someone else indicated this was a canned response. If that's true, I think it would be an improvement to change the wording of their canned response to something as simple as:
"This is an automatic response. We received your question. An immediate solution is not available for all AdSense problems. If there is an immediate solution to your problem, someone from the AdSense staff will notify you in 1-2 business days. If there is not an immediate solution, you will not receive any further correspondce from us on this matter until a solution has been realized unless we need additional information from you to address the problem."
I haven't offered an opinion as to whether the response was "wrong" or "right." I have now offered an opinion that I think the response could be improved.
And one footnote - I responded to the AdSense response with further information that may assist them if someone is researching the particular problem I submitted. I did not receive a reply to the additional information message.
Thanks,
Bobby |

This is where I think you are wrong. It's not an automatic response. It's simply a response that they use (and generated by a human) when they do not immediately have an answer for you. |
