I'm doing keyword research for niches. I'm using nichebot and wordtracker. The results between the 2 are so different. In nichebot one keyword will have a 'ratio' under 1 (indicating a good keyword), but then in wordtracker-free version - the KEI will be under 10 (indicating a very competetive keyword). Which results do I use to base my decision on whether a keyword is too competetive?
I don't want to move forward until I'm certain I have good keywords, but with 2 such different results how do I know which way to proceed?

Thanks for any insight!
AMU

Unfortunatly, I've found the same results as you. That is, two very different sets of results between the two. I've since stopped using Nichebot and instead rely somewhat on Google's tools that they provide for Google AdWords and mainly on Wordtracker as I've found it to be a little more accurate. I suggest signing up for a Google AdWords account. I have an article posted on my Free Links Direct site that gives some tips for Google AdWord keywords, so feel free to check it out by clicking on the link in my Sig and then choosing SEO from the main menu. It may be of some help to you.

AMU, I wouldn't get too excited by KEI. Here's a post which should help you:
