I have searched many threads in this sub-forum for some sample web site links using this James's method technique, but did not find any.
If Allan allow it, would anybody please post some links for me? Or you can PM to me please. _________________ Andrew Nurcahya

Okay I think I understand it better now.
James's methods are basicaly web sites about 2 level deep with content and affiliate links combines.
The idea is to deploy many of these sites. Sort of like planting seed in a garden?
I really don't think anyone can prove one way or the other if certain site are block by Google or not. I have seen web sites index went up and down. What Google is doing is a mystery. I am starting to think they do some of these unpredictable steps on purpose to some medium and small sites. _________________ Andrew Nurcahya

One easy thing you can do is a search like this in Google...
site:example.com
...to see how many of the site's pages Google has indexed.
You can also do quite a few different checks to see how serious the webmaster has been in getting links to a site and getting it recognized by search engines. A neat way to do this quickly is to use the "Page Strength" tool; http://www.seomoz.org/tools/page-strength.php
Try typing both of those URLs of James's into the Page Strength tool (you'll usually get different results with or without the "www"). You'll see that the older, apparently penalized site, is not doing nearly as well as the newer site.
You can also try typing in your own URL and a few of your competitors' URLs. Perhaps you'll find that the sites which are beating you in the search engines have a stronger "Page Strength".
You won't find all the answers in this little free tool, but it gives you a few clues about ways you can improve your rankings. _________________ Allan Gardyne

I can't speak for James but from what I recall when listening to Affiliate Buzz -- if memory serves me well -- is that he has mistakenly crosslinks his sites, hence banned by Google.
Instead of finding ways to clean that mess up and request for reinclusion, he actually thought that was too much work and move on creating more sites instead.
YMMV, but I personally think he could get into Google's index again if he try, because he said he has successfully identified the problem.
Here's another:
http://www.1st-in-web-hosting.com/
If you examine closely, you will soon recognize his sites and those of his students because they share similar structure.
@DataFeedFile: No, it is not combined. He separated it into a handful of product pages and lots of article pages.
He deploys many sites, but not interlink them together, that is not a recommended approach.
You can examined Alexa traffic, he has been dropped from Google's index for two years or more now if I am not mistaken. His pages were indeed dropped. _________________ I help small business owners overcome technology challenges in building their business online.

I have met James and his wife at an affililate summit and like them and admire their marketing techniques. I haven't bought any of his products, so I'll add generic comments.
Allan is 100% right in recommending the site: command in Google to see how many pages are in the index. The cellphone site in question seems to have been manually banned, as it has zero listings. If it did show some results, look for entries marked "Supplemental Result", which is another problem for many affiliates who, like me, rely on datafeeds for content. This falls afoul of the "thin affiliate" filter. I have also found the RSS scrapers to be a liability to my sites. Only my sites with few pages have survived in AdSense; the big sites are all invisible owing to the Supplemental filter, not a ban.
Some of these online entrepreneurs seem to be in trouble, as their screen shots of their AdSense earnings are all pre-June 2006. |

Could someone explain this a bit more? What is meant by "thin affiliate filter", especially. Overall, I'm new to this and would like some more info.
Thanks,
John |

Ah, ah. I see. These thin sites are all over the place. Take a look at a site called digitalcamera.com. It's indexed by Google but looks like a parked page. How is this possible? I see sites like this a lot, somtimes even in the top 10 for some keywords. Will these eventually be bannned or are some of them legitimate _________________ Website content and development for all kinds of subject matter.
