Which Affiliate Program(s) have you actually gotten paid from? (NO B.S. -real respones only!)
I'm not so much interested in the amount, I just want to know which ones actually payout and what type of marketing/investment it took for you to actually generate some income$$$ _________________ *Viral Marketing Mix

The best place to look for the really good affiliate programs is right here. click on the "Affiliate Program Directory" tab above.
Allan seems to have an inside track when it comes to good affiliate programs.
What you have to look out for are the ones that turn around and bite you in the !@#$%^.
There are a couple of those out there. If it sounds to good to be true then it probably is.
That's experience speaking. I've been SCAMMED a couple of times by the "Pie In The Sky" pitch. Any affiliate programs you look at do some "Due Diligence" and check out the claims.
A $100,000 a month? Right! That sounds real.
Luck

I think the OP just wants to know which programs they shold promote to make money with. A lot of times people need a push to start making money. I made money with Credit card offers and promoting software. _________________ Affiliate Project X- The best Affiliate Book |

It would be a long list. I make money from things as obscure as Technics turntables (Musician's Friend), gluten-free recipe books (Amazon) and keyword research (Keyword Discovery and Wordtracker).
Why? Either because I'm interested in those topics or I have an assistant interested in those topics. Because of this, I own websites which have published articles and reviews on those topics.
Affiliates make money from MILLIONS of different products and from thousands of different affiliate programs. It's a multi-billion-dollar industry.
Does this information help YOU at all? Probably not. I suggest you consider approaching affiliate marketing from a new angle. Instead of looking for a good affiliate program, look for a good audience.
Look for a bunch of people who are eager to find information on a certain topic. When you've found your eager audience, find a good product which solves their problem. Then sell them what they want.
How do you find an eager audience? One way is to walk into a magazine store and look at all the topics covered. Choose one.
Here's an article I wrote which may help: Where to get ideas for a niche website _________________ Allan Gardyne

Good post, Allan. Typically finance companies pay very well for customer leads...any type of finance product you can think of. However, be aware that these products will have a ton of competition. Like Allan said, to start, find something you enjoy and then you'll make it work. Once you learn the affiliate marketing skills to make money, you can make money in literally any program you join...then it becomes really fun

$100k/month isn't unreasonable with the right program. In 2006 I was consistently making $30k+ a month, and 3 months in a row it was at over $50k/month. The problem is that it's getting increasingly difficult to deliver high volume traffic that converts without spending a few dollars per click (Google/Yahoo). Although if you approach it creatively there are more than a few ways to drive that traffic at a lower spend. _________________ AIA- Auto Insurance Affiliates offers the highest base payout in the industry starting at $12/completed quote up to $16/quote depending on volume. |

When I first started online I read it was easier to sell something online to someone already interested in buying it. That made sense to me. Translation:
Look for what is being searched for already. It is easier to convert traffic already there than it is to create the traffic itself. _________________ Jeff Schuman

My advice would be to focus on HOW to be successful at affiliate marketing first, the "good money" will come later.
Search through the affiliate directories, affiliate networks, CPA networks, affiliate OPM (outsourced program management firms) and find a few offers that interest you, that you think you might have fun promoting, and that you already have a bit of knowledge about. This will make the whole learning process a bit more interesting and less tedious.
Build your website, and try out a variety of promotional techniques to get traffic (PPC (small scale to start), Natural Search SEO, Article Marketing, List building, etc.) Play with your website design to see what provides the best conversions. Once you feel you're reaching some level of success, then start branching out into other niches and directions.
Be patient, just like with any other industry, it generally takes some time and practice to get proficient. _________________ Dave Oliver - AMWSO Affiliate Program Management Team
