Just wondering if it's normal for Dec adsense earnings to tank on your sites? I was averaging around $30 a day in Nov, but after the first week of Dec it has dried up to only a few dollars, with traffic way down. I realize sites with holiday niches would do well, but is it normal for most sites to drop like this?

Yes, its been driedup, but it depends upon the sites as you mentioned and I am almost lost $200 comparing to last month.. Sad

Same thing happened to me. My average was $35/day and since last week its $15-20/day. The main reason for this is the holidays. And it will come to noraml from next year.

My earnings are up for the month.

If yours are down I would suspect it's a result of the advertisers lowering their bids due to volume, opting out of the content network.

And of course it could have a lot to do with Google Tweaking their smart pricing model for the Holidays. I've had actual days where clicks have made 1/2 of 1cent! Other days the same ad group is paying 50 to 60 cents for this click!

It's amazing Google can keep people in the dark about this and still attract 100,000's of users.

Check your traffic logs to see if your traffic is the same. And if you are serious bout Adsense I would suggest investing $50 to $100 in a good tracking script (There are 2 or 3 out there) and take a closer look.

The reasons are always there, don't leave it up to speculation.

$30-$35 a day is a grand a month the tracking software pays for itself very quickly.

I can also tell you that running too many ads is not advisable.

That's just it, the average EPC is the same, it's the traffic that is down. From 1200 visitors a day for all the sites to only 250 a day. It's been brutal, but then again, my sites are not holiday related.

The traffic always goes down in the second half of Dec for me. My adsense $ are higher this time, but it is due to design change and better placement (i.e. higher CTR).

Losing some traffic is normal, people think about holidays
