Hi,
Its been a while since my last visit, haven't been working on websites for about 2 years. Kept most of the ones I have running. Adsense revenue was going up and that caught my attention.
Now looking at my stats I have in total about 15000 unique IP's visiting my sites. (6 in total). Nice, especially because I left with a feeling I would never be able to pull in traffic.
The income is very low compared to the visiters coming in. So I hardly convert... Not allowed to say anything about adsense but CJ is under 300 a year....
Have no clue why some sites are not converting.
Allen, I don't know if its ok to name a website, but Gardening-Guides.com is pulling a steady 2500 ip's or 8000 pagevieuws a day income is below 25 a month. Excluding some adsense. Wondering what to do, a gourmet site of mine is doing over 9000 pageviews and 10 dollar....
Ideas???

Try to find higher paying keywords for your site. You can use adwords tool for this.
You have to try different ads on your site to see which ones make more money. You will see some make money while others never seem to make a sale. _________________ Surveys that pay

Oeps, Allen, I mean Allan..,well ik makes it more then clear that I've really been out of touch with this community.
I'll do as you suggested, but mind you the situation there is an abandonend site with a half hearted update a few months ago. (grin....a bit like your cheap-computers once was)
Still seeing the possibility of the sites I have now I feel an overwhelming urge to move ahead again...tackling my luxery problem (well without the material luxery yet)

I like your gardening-guides website I just took a look a round, and you've got some great content (and a good amount of it).
I would do a little site design clean-up - like getting the articles to come up at the top each time and things to line up, etc.
As for monetizing the site - I would think outside of the adsense "box". You're getting good traffic, have a nice PR....why settle for a few cents a click? (especially when that few cents takes your customer AWAY from your site..and to a competitor!)
If anything, at least get an opt-in form on your site. You can offer a monthly gardening newsletter (or something like that), but at least build your list.

First think of ways to get TARGETTED traffic to your niches.
Don't just rely on a single affiliate for earning a good revenue. Look for other sources of income. PPC is a very effective way given the proper treatment. Identify your niche and select the market you want to cater to and start from there. Research also on the keywords your desired market would most likely be looking for. You should be more focused on getting targetted traffic than just page views.
Another great way of targetting your desired audience is through forum posting on similar niche.
Article submissions helps a lot. Having strong link backs to high PR article directories sometimes does the trick.
Blogging is also a great way to promote your site. Regular postings and "pinging" helps your site get indexed by search engines.
Again, as I always say - patience is a virtue. Be persistent in achieving your goals.
Hope my suggestions help you out _________________ PR4 Link Directory

I set gardening guides up, according to Ken Envoys recommendation, write about what interests you.
I'm receiving a lot of traffic and have pretty good rankings, flower garden design shows up at no2 in google among 13 mil+ total results. And according to the studie of the log files the traffic is higly focussed. A low bounce rate, but perhaps the stay to long on the site. Visitors are averaging now over 10 mins, and the bounce rate is between 45 and 15.
A friend of mine advised to put some "rubbish" like 5$ articles in to get people from the site and to the advertisers. But somehow that doesn't feel right.
I think for now I just pick up working on the sites that interest me. And try some sales without the obvious buttons. My alternative energy site is up to pr 6 and doing great. And according to the number downloads of my "how to become independent from the utility companies I'm making a lot of plumbers rich
Opt-in might be a good idea though!!!
The funny thing is that the junk sites I also have are doing not to bad and make more money then what I consider my quality sites.
Thanks for the comments!!

That's really interesting.
But I still don't get it, what's about the lack of income on your sites. You said the gardening site is only making so much , but I can't see ANY adsense or affiliate links or whatever.
You have lots of downloads? Do you have money making links in there? You shouldn't only make other people profits but yourself too.
You deserved it
Opt in is something you NEED. Everybody needs. Build a list. Because then you can follow up with people - they buy often only after a lot of contacts, they need to get trust. _________________ Just COPY the system from Ewen Chia. http://www.AffiliateKickstart.com

Why do you ask? He gets organic traffic...
Otherwise, there are lots of other possibilities to get free or paid traffic.
The best thing is to create something, a report or a squeeze page that offers something so good, that lots of other marketers are promoting the link to it. Then you will get traffic from many big email lists from other marketers, for free. Or any other viral... _________________ Just COPY the system from Ewen Chia. http://www.AffiliateKickstart.com

| Quote: | | Where are you SELLING something on your site?? I didn't found anything |
I didn't find anything either?
Might be an idea to set up affiliate links on your pages which link through to products so you can earn commissions, like seeds, plants, gardening tools etc. You have links that go through to different pages on your website, but I didn't find any affiliate links which I think would be very useful and effective for the site.
You have great content on your site you should use that to the best of your advantage.
I think your google ads are positioned well.
Good luck with it! _________________ Free Trial for Site Build It |
